Anderson was behind such childhood favorites as Stingray (1964),Thunderbirds (1965-66), Fireball XL5 (1962-63), and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967-68).
A man of many talents, Gerry also produced the science fiction movie Doppelgänger, better known to us here as Journey to the Far Side of the Sun, and popular live action TV shows such as UFO (1970), The Protectors (1972-74) and Space 1999 (1975-78). He also ventured into the comics field with TV Century 21 (1965-71).
Gerry sadly passed on in 2012, aged 83, but his legacy lives on and nowadays his much-loved shows are at the forefront of a nostalgia boom.
