"Boo Theatre!" was a hosted horror movie show with Terry Johnson as "Dr. Boo" on Saturday nights at 11:00 p.m. on KFSA-TV Channel 5, Fort Smith, Arkansas, in the 1970s. "Dr. Boo" was assisted by "Melvin the Dummy Mummy." Together they presented horror and science fiction movies.
Terry Johnson was the son of George and Lois (nee Edwards)Johnson. He earned a bachelor's degree and then a master's degree while working at a local Columbia, Missouri television station. Johnson's first job in Fort Smith was at KFSA-TV; and was the creator of "Boo! Theatre".
Later, in the early 1970s, he became an advertising and public relations director for the Donrey Media Group. In the early 1990s, ill health and the sale of Donerey, caused Mr. Johnson to retire.
Terry Johnson passed away 22 January 2009.
