Heroes of Horror Lugosi - Karloff - Chaney - Price - Lorre 2-DVD set New Sealed

RARE, Hard to Find and OUT OF PRINT: An extremely cool documentary featuring five gripping true stories of the men behind the greatest screen monsters of all time.

Featuring the A&E biographies of Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr., Peter Lorre, and Vincent Price. This is a real delight for fans of classic horror...made even better by the inclusion of two hours of trailers from their various films. This set is out-of-print, increasingly rare.

Disc 1
Boris Karloff: The Gentle Monster (45 mins.)
Though famed for his portrayal of the brutish Frankenstein monster -- and other movie monsters -- Karloff was, in fact, a sensitive and cultured man. His tremendous talent and versatility as a performer is evidenced by not only a Tony Award nomination for his role in The Lark, but a Grammy Award for his narration of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Lon Chaney Jr.: Son of a Thousand Faces (45 mins.)
He was the lumbering "Lennie" in Of Mice and Men, "Lawrence Talbot" in The Wolf Man, and he portrayed The Mummy, Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, and a slew of other imposing on-screen characters. Yet the shy, troubled man behind the mask struggled personally.

Bela Lugosi: Hollywood's Dark Prince (45 mins.)
Continental charm, dashing good looks, and an imposing presence made him an ideal candidate for the kind of romantic heroes he longed to play. But for millions of movie-goers around the world, Lugosi would forever be associated with one role, that of the bloodthirsty Transylvanian aristocrat Count Dracula.

Disc 2
Peter Lorre: The Master of Menace (45 mins.)
His bulging eyes, nasal accent, and intense portrayals of tormented characters earned Peter Lorre a reputation sa one of the most distinctive talents in Hollywood.

Vincent Price: The Versatile Villian (44 mins.)
An aristocratic bearing and distinctive voice helped Price cultivate an air of sophistication and mystery. These traits mad him a standout performer in The Fly, the Pit and the Pendulum, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, and dozens of other acclaimed films that fueled a career that spanned six decades.

2003/Color/3 hours 44 mins. Narrated by Richard Kiley.
