This incredibly detailed figure features the likeness of Lon Chaney Sr. as Quasimodo in the role that would make him famous. Includes crown, scepter and figure stand.
Universal Studios created and truly defined the horror film genre beginning in the 1920s. Among Universal's most legendary stars was Chaney, whose freelance acting career began in 1917 and led to hundreds of roles by 1923. It was his particular style in bringing his characters to "life" with self-designed makeup and body movements which conveyed a wide range of emotions that made him so successful.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is the story of Quasimodo, a kind, simple man so grotesquely deformed he has been hidden away all of his life in the bell towers of the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Standing aloft on the marble balustrades among the gargoyles, pigeons and pillars, he watches people as they bustle through their lives. A young dancing girl, Esmeralda, becomes the focal point of his yearning for human contact and companionship. It is through his friendship with Esmeralda that his life changes forever.
