In 1928 George Barris and his older brother Sam moved to Roseville, CA, and the two started creating "Barris Brothers" custom cars. Barris" passion and business expanded over the years, garnered the attention of Hollywood, and this led to customizing cars for movies, television, and personal cars for the stars of the time, including Frank Sinatra, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Elvis Presley.

The Barris Koach was built from three Ford Model T bodies and is 18 feet long. Its engine had Jahns high-compression pistons, 10 chrome-plated Stromberg carbs, an Isky cam, and a set of Bobby Barr racing headers. The car was decked out with amazing details, including rolled steel scrollwork, brass radiator, split radius rods and T-springs. It was an amazing undertaking, given that the scrollwork alone took 500 hours to complete. But Barris pulled it all together in just three weeks -- meeting the studio's deadline.

Like the Koach, the Drag-u-la was purpose-built by Barris for Universal Studios. Its dark and incredible creativity started with the well-known designer Tom Daniel while working with Barris in 1966. The car was basically a 350hp rolling coffin; a menacing thought to anyone who dared get behind the wheel! It featured a 289ci Ford Mustang V8 engine, a four-speed stick shift, two four-barrel carbs mounted on a Mickey Thompson Ram-Thrust manifold, all feeding an organ-pipe exhaust loud enough to wake the dead.

Collectors Note: Just released! Brand-new and factory sealed individually on blister cards. Each car has a diecast metal body and chassis. Loose cars shown for detail. You will receive both cars in Near Mint/Mint packaging picked directly from the manufacturer's shipping cartons.
