Monogram Snap Tite Giant Woolly Mammoth 1:13 Scale Model Kit

The Mammoth was an ancestor of the present-day elephant. It lived within the last million years, in the Pleistocene period, and was hunted by early man. The Mammoth's heavy layer of fat, thick wool covering and long, coarse hair protected it from the severe temperatures of the Ice Age. It reached a height of about 12 feet and lived in Arctic tundras or dry, grassy steppes with a wide temperature range. The frozen remains of a Woolly Mammoth were discovered in Siberia in 1907. This 1/13 scale model is 16 and 1/2'" long (42 cm) and is modeled in brown with ivory colored tusks. Head, legs, and trunk are movable. The kit SNAPS together, no gluing needed. Model may be painted to match photos on box. (Paint not included.)
